Here are some of my favorite reads of 2020!
Reading is one of my favorite hobbies. This year I was lucky enough to have the time to read 35 books/audiobooks. Note: I use the term “reading” and “books” in this post to also include “listening” and “audiobooks.” This year, I used Scribd,* the Libby App & Seattle Public Library, bought a few, and got gifted some as presents and via my local Buy Nothing group.

Details on all the books can be found on my Goodreads page.

My 2020 Top 5 Favorite Fiction Books:

(Honorable Mentions go to The Hate U Give, The Nickel Boys, and Kindred.)

My 2020 Top 5 Favorite Non-Fiction Books:

(Breath, Burnout and Upward Spiral are all books I draw from in my upcoming “Worry Less & Manage Stress” Program. Honorable mentions go to The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma by Bessel K. van der Kolk and Between the World and Me By Ta-Nehisi Coates) Find these books and everything I have read on my goodreads page at goodreads.com/keridwyn.

A fun note on how I prefer to read these days:

Something that has been a game changer for me with reading is, when possible, I have learned I love listening to an audiobook while I read the printed or ebook. It helps me focus better and longer (and I retain the information easier, when it’s a work related book.) I can adjust the speed of the audiobook as needed — sometimes I let my eyes rest when reading along, then look at the words when it’s a part of the book I want to focus on more. Sharing in case that appeals to you! With the “deliver later” feature on Libby app, I’ve been able to time getting ebooks and audiobooks at the same time. And with Scribd, I can listen on one device and read on another.

*If you want to get TWO months free of Scribd (it’s like netflix for books/audiobooks/sheet music) use my referral link here: https://www.scribd.com/g/8gjtsr.
(This gives you two free months — you can cancel before they charge you — and gifts me a free month too, so thank you!)

I love to talk/message about books so let me know what you enjoyed this year! I post most of my books on Instagram on my feed, stories, and highlights — you can find me there at instagram.com/keridwyn.

Goodreads created these “My Year in Books” images. It seems a bit arbitrary which book images they made larger, but I still appreciate the time they saved me by making these images!
